Pre-arranged rides in Birmingham
For Journeys that Matter
The Birmingham airport says limousine and shuttle services operate by reservation only, and it advises riders to contact a company before they arrive, according to its limousine and shuttle contacts page. LUXY Ride is built around that kind of advance booking. You book ahead, you see your fare before you confirm, and your assigned chauffeur's details arrive before your trip.
LUXY connects you with a professional chauffeur through our partner network. This page covers pickups at Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport, trips to the BJCC and Uptown, game days at Protective Stadium and Legion Field, and rides to Hoover Metropolitan Stadium. Pickup details arrive with your booking confirmation.

Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport (BHM)
Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport was renamed in 2008 to honor the late civil rights activist Rev. Fred Shuttlesworth, according to the airport's About BHM page. The airport describes itself as the state's largest in passenger traffic, and FAA data lists it 4 miles northeast of Birmingham.
For car service, the airport's limousine and shuttle contacts page says these services operate by reservation only and advises riders to contact a company before arriving. A LUXY booking is made in advance and confirmed before you travel. Pickup details arrive with your booking confirmation, and for airport pickups, flight tracking adjusts your pickup timing.
Why travelers come
Meetings, Games and Conventions in Uptown
The Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex sits at 2100 Richard Arrington Jr. Blvd. N. in the Uptown Entertainment District, which the Birmingham City Council approved as the city's first entertainment district in 2015, according to the BJCC. The campus includes Protective Stadium, Legacy Arena, exhibition halls and the Sheraton Birmingham and Westin Birmingham hotels. Visit Birmingham lists 350,000 square feet of convention and exhibition space on the campus.
Annual consumer events at the BJCC include the World Deer Expo, the Christmas Village Festival and the Birmingham Boat Show. That mix brings business travelers, convention guests and sports fans to the same part of Birmingham. A pre-arranged ride lets a corporate team, an exhibitor or a family heading to a game settle transportation before the trip starts. Teams can also set up a LUXY business account.
The BJCC and Uptown
The BJCC anchors Uptown with conventions, trade shows and concerts across its venues. A ride booked ahead gives a delegate or exhibitor a confirmed trip before the first session.
Protective Stadium
Protective Stadium opened on October 2, 2021 and is home to UAB Blazers football. It also hosts the Birmingham Bowl, so game day transportation can be settled before you leave.
Historic Legion Field
Historic Legion Field hosts the Magic City Classic, one of the events on the Greater Birmingham Convention and Visitors Bureau's annual events calendar. Fans traveling in for the game can book a confirmed ride in advance.
Hoover Metropolitan Stadium
Hoover Metropolitan Stadium, in Hoover, hosts the SEC Baseball Tournament. Enter the stadium as your destination when you book and your upfront fare appears before you confirm.
Pepper Place and Sloss Furnaces
Pepper Place and Sloss Furnaces are the venues for the Southbound Food Festival, according to the annual events calendar. A pre-arranged ride lets visitors set their plans before they travel.

Got questions?
We Have Answers
How does prearranged car service work at the Birmingham airport?
The airport says limousine and shuttle services operate by reservation only, so you arrange the ride before you arrive. A LUXY ride is booked in advance and confirmed before you travel. Your assigned chauffeur's details and pickup information arrive with your booking confirmation. For airport pickups, flight tracking adjusts your pickup timing.
Can my team's Birmingham trips go on one business account?
Yes, your company can set up a LUXY business account for team travel. That suits teams visiting Birmingham for meetings or conventions at the BJCC. Each trip is still booked in advance, with the fare shown before you confirm and chauffeur details sent before your trip.
How far is BHM from the city of Birmingham?
FAA data lists Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport as 4 miles northeast of Birmingham. That is the airport's position relative to the city, so the miles on your own ride depend on your pickup and destination. Your upfront fare appears before you confirm, and your pickup details arrive with your booking confirmation.
Which annual events take place at the BJCC?
The BJCC's annual consumer events include the World Deer Expo, the Christmas Village Festival and the Birmingham Boat Show, according to the BJCC.
