For Journeys that Matter

The Boston Marathon traditionally takes place on Patriots' Day, the third Monday of April, and the course runs from Hopkinton to Boylston Street in Boston. It finishes in Copley Square and passes through eight cities and towns on the way. Streets along the route close to vehicles on race day, and the Boston Athletic Association says spectators cannot park near the finish area.

LUXY connects you with a professional chauffeur through our partner network. You book in advance, see your fare before you confirm, and receive pickup details with your booking confirmation. Book each leg of your trip as its own ride, from the airport arrival to the trip home.

Getting Around on Race Day

Streets along the course close to vehicles on race day, and the Boston Athletic Association says spectators cannot park near the finish area because of road closures and traffic congestion. Limited spectator parking is available at Hopkinton State Park, with shuttles on race morning.

The MBTA is the other option the BAA lists. Commuter Rail stops serve Ashland, Framingham, Natick, Wellesley, and Boston, and Green Line stops serve Newton and Brookline.

The official BAA buses to the start are for registered participants only, and the BAA athlete page does not address car service.

A pre-arranged ride gives you a confirmed pickup before you travel, so your plan does not rely on parking or train timing. Your pickup details arrive with your booking confirmation. Book your Boston Marathon ride with LUXY Ride.

We Have Answers

We’ve provided answers to some common questions here, but if you don’t find what you’re looking for please call us directly at 833.438.5899. We’re here to make your ride better.

Where can I watch the Boston Marathon?

The Boston Athletic Association lists viewing points in Hopkinton at the start, near Wellesley College around the halfway point, on the Newton Hills between roughly miles 17.5 and 21, along Beacon Street in Brookline, and on Boylston Street at the finish. Book your ride to the town you choose, and pickup details arrive with your booking confirmation.

Can I park near the Boston Marathon finish?

No. The Boston Athletic Association says spectators cannot park near the finish area because of road closures and traffic congestion. Limited spectator parking is available at Hopkinton State Park, with shuttles on race morning. With a pre-arranged ride, you skip the parking search, and pickup details arrive with your booking confirmation.

Which MBTA lines serve the Boston Marathon course towns?

The BAA lists MBTA Commuter Rail stops in Ashland, Framingham, Natick, Wellesley, and Boston, and Green Line stops in Newton and Brookline. Which line fits depends on the town where you plan to watch or meet a runner. If you prefer a set pickup instead of transit, you can book a ride with LUXY Ride, and pickup details arrive with your booking confirmation.

Where do families meet runners after the finish?

The BAA Family Meeting Area is on Stuart Street between Berkeley Street and Clarendon Street. The BAA says it takes considerable time to reach the meeting area from the finish, so allow extra time before a booked pickup. Pickup details arrive with your booking confirmation.

Can spectators ride the official BAA start buses?

No. The BAA says transportation to the start is for official participants only, and its athlete page does not address car service. Spectators and families can book their own pre-arranged ride with LUXY Ride, and your fare appears before you confirm the booking.

What do road closures mean for booking a ride?

Road closures make booking ahead more useful, because the BAA says streets along the course close to vehicles on race day. Book in advance, and pickup details arrive with your booking confirmation. Check the BAA spectator page for current closure information before you travel.
