How the Passenger Safety PIN Works

Before your upcoming ride can begin, you will need to share a Passenger Safety PIN with your driver. This new feature will help validate passengers and drivers to one another and keeps you safer on the road.

Let’s take a look at a step-by-step guide on how you’ll receive the Passenger Safety PIN and what happens when it’s verified:

How the Passenger Safety PIN Works:

• On the day of your upcoming ride, you will get a text notification when your Driver is on their way. This will include the make and model of the vehicle they will be arriving in, along with their license plate number and a phone contact number for the driver.

• Once your driver has reached the pick-up location, you will get a text notification that they have arrived. This notification will include a secure 4-digit safety PIN code.

• Locate your driver, and share your 4-digit PIN code with them. They will need this to start the trip to your destination.

• You will receive a confirmation text once the PIN has been entered correctly. This means your ride can safely begin.

• Always ensure you’ve received confirmation that your 4-digit safety PIN code has been verified by your driver before you begin your trip, and never get into a vehicle you do not recognize.

How An ‘Incorrect Safety PIN Entered’ Notification Can Be Resolved:

• In the event that your 4-digit Safety PIN code is entered incorrectly, or if the original message with the PIN code is lost, undelivered, or deleted, your driver will have the option to resend the safety PIN code to you via text message.

• Share the latest received 4-digit PIN code with your driver, and once it is entered correctly, you will receive an additional confirmation text message. This means your ride can safely begin. 

• Always ensure you’ve received confirmation that your 4-digit safety PIN code has been verified by your driver before you begin your trip, and never get into a vehicle you do not recognize.
